A waterlogged pitch at Meadowbank meant that Edinburgh City’s game was off, so a quick scan of the fixtures was required and Palmerston Park was chosen.

The match itself turned out to be poor offering but the stadium…what a gem!

Everything that Recreation Park gets wrong (#12) Palmerston Park gets right.  The old and new fit together in the most attractive way.  The old main stand looks like something designed by 1980s Subbuteo.  The huge terracing is a thing of beauty.  A real blast from the past.  Huge, traditional floodlights.  Just perfect.  Without doubt our favourite ground so far.

Friendly stewards, fun club mascot, no annoying halftime music and Under-16s free entry (for this match) – top marks to the Doonhamers!

As for the match, Falkirk proved too strong for QOS with goals scored from a free-kick and a penalty giving them the win.

So, although QOS didn’t win on the pitch they certainly did off it.  We’ll be back, that’s for sure.

Stadium – 9 out of 10 – maybe the sunshine had something to do with it but we really like Palmerston Park!

Adults – £16, Under-16s – Free
